Zentangle can be taken into your other art forms. I am a practicing artist, working in many mediums and often find Zentangle patterns useful in my mainstream practice. These pieces are called ‘Zentangle Inspired Art’ and many Zentangle practitioner/artists will use them as I do, to create one off pieces.

Zentangle offers you a diverse portfolio of patterns such as geometric, organic, grid, tessellation, reticular and fragmentation just to mention a few.

If you consciously look around as you walk through our town and cities, shopping centers, and even our homes etc.. you will see patterns everywhere. They can blend into our environment or they can standout and draw our attention.

Pattern creates visual interest and draw your eye. They can be used to flesh out a form, change it’s visual reality, trick our eye, stir an emotion and much more.

I consciously use pattern as part of my visual language. For me, Zentangle is an amazing tool that allows me to embellish some of my pieces with the organic forms that I love to work with.
